Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
Erin Miller is a research scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory where she has led projects developing radiation imaging techniques for security applications in a number of areas.ย This includes developing a phase contrast x-ray imaging research program, investigating applications of phase contrast for explosives detection in aviation security and emergency response.ย She has also led work on gamma emission tomography for safeguarding spent nuclear fuel, deterministic radiation transport for gamma spectroscopy problems in homeland security, and inverse problems in radiation detection including aerial detection of radioactive sources and locating radioactive sources in cargo containers. She holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Washington.
